Fourth of July Safety Tips

• Safety with Fireworks – Only allow adults to light fireworks. Keep a bucket of water on hand. Only light one firework at a time, making sure never to point a firework at another person.
• Safety on the Beach – Make sure children are wearing approved life jackets. Don’t drink and swim. Don’t dive headfirst into the water. Only swim in areas with lifeguard supervision. Avoid rip currents.
• Safety in the Sun – The 4th of July is one of the hottest, sunniest parts of the year. Make sure you and your children are protected from UV rays by applying and reapplying sunscreen, wearing sunglasses, and drinking plenty of water.
